Product & UX Research Perspectives Roundtable – Bay Area 2026

Following conversations with more than twenty senior Product and UX Research leaders, intO Founder and CEO Joanna Brassett is taking the conversation to the Bay Area. This September, intO will bring together senior leaders to explore how AI, continuous discovery and shifting responsibilities are reshaping the relationship between Product and UX Research.

Over the past two years, one observation has come up repeatedly in conversations with Product and UX Research leaders from some of the world’s most ambitious technology companies.

AI is changing not only how products are built, but also how Product and UX Research teams work. Product Managers are becoming increasingly research-led through continuous discovery and easier access to customer insight. At the same time, UX Researchers are playing a more strategic role in shaping product direction, influencing decisions beyond individual studies and contributing to broader product strategy.

The result is that the traditional boundaries between Product and UX Research are becoming less defined. New skills are emerging, responsibilities are shifting, and organisations are beginning to rethink what these disciplines will look like over the next five years.

How are the boundaries between Product and UX Research evolving?

As Founder and CEO of Studio intO, I work with global organisations including Google, Waymo, Booking.com, Amazon, Meta, Uber, Bolt and Wise. Over the past year, I have spoken with more than twenty senior Product and UX Research leaders across leading global technology companies to better understand how these changes are unfolding in practice. Through these conversations, one pattern has become impossible to ignore. While every organisation is navigating its own unique challenges, the same questions, opportunities and uncertainties are surfacing across the industry. Yet there are surprisingly few opportunities to step outside our own organisations, compare experiences and openly explore these shifts with peers facing similar challenges.

That is why we are launching the Product & Research Perspectives Roundtable.

The Roundtable is an invitation-only evening that brings together a carefully curated group of senior Product and UX Research leaders for thoughtful conversation, fresh perspectives and meaningful connections over great food and drinks. Rather than a traditional networking event, the evening is designed to create genuine conversations between peers who are shaping the future of Product and Research in some of the world’s leading technology companies.

Joining us will be two special guests whose careers reflect these evolving boundaries. Through their own professional journeys, they will share their unique experiences of moving across Product and UX Research, helping to spark what promises to be a fascinating discussion.

Why this conversation matters now

The Roundtable builds on the research behind our recent Product Perspective Report, When Insight Moves Faster Than Confidence, which explored one of the biggest shifts affecting Product organisations today.

Across more than twenty conversations with senior Product leaders, one theme emerged consistently: while organisations have unprecedented access to customer insight, the challenge is no longer gathering more research. Instead, the opportunity lies in making sense of increasingly diverse sources of evidence, aligning teams around shared understanding and making confident product decisions in an environment that is changing faster than ever.

The rapid adoption of AI, the growth of continuous discovery and the evolving relationship between Product and UX Research are accelerating this shift. We believe this is a unique moment to bring together the people shaping these disciplines, exchange perspectives, challenge one another’s thinking and collectively explore what the future of Product and UX Research could look like.

If this conversation resonates with you, I’d love you to join us at one of our inaugural Roundtables in the Bay Area w/c 14 September.
