Reflecting on an Incredible Two Days at AI<>BA 2024: A Truly Global Gathering in Katowice

The AI<>BA 2024 Conference in Katowice, co-organised by Studio intO, gathered hundreds of global attendees for two days of insights on AI’s impact on business. With 40 speakers from 15 countries, the event offered diverse perspectives on AI’s real-world applications and challenges. We’re already looking ahead to AI<>BA 2025, building on the connections and ideas from this year.

The AI<>BA 2024 Conference has wrapped, and it’s safe to say it was nothing short of extraordinary! Over two packed days, several hundred attendees gathered in Katowice, Poland, with remote participants joining from more than 30 countries around the world. Co-organised by Studio intO, the conference transcended borders, disciplines, and perspectives, bringing together a vibrant and diverse community focused on exploring AI’s transformative impact on business.

A Global Mix of Experts, Practitioners, and Leaders

The conference was a melting pot of ideas, with 40 brilliant speakers representing 15 countries and 5 continents. From Poland to Israel, from the United Kingdom to the United States, the diversity of voices was unparalleled. Each speaker brought unique insights into how AI is driving business growth, enhancing customer experience, and fostering a new wave of change management. As one attendee put it, this was not just another AI conference – it was a platform where real-world applications, case studies, and practical insights took center stage, enabling everyone present to return with actionable strategies.

A Uniquely Collaborative Atmosphere

The success of AI<>BA is deeply rooted in its community-centric approach. As Ilya Venger, Data and AI Product Lead at Microsoft, described, “Not too big, not too corporate—a tight group of several hundred people; building and learning, exercising curiosity and passion. Sharing with untypical generosity.” Ilya highlighted the refreshing mix of hands-on experience with candid discussions about what works – and what doesn’t – in implementing AI across industries. It’s this authentic exchange of knowledge that makes AI<>BA’s atmosphere truly special.

Real Insights from Real Challenges

Many attendees appreciated that AI<>BA wasn’t just about successes; it also addressed the real challenges and roadblocks in AI implementation. Speakers like Dawid Pacholczyk from Exadel and Bartosz Pampuch shared insightful lessons on AI-driven business intelligence and RAG systems, diving into both the potential and the pitfalls. Tzvika Besor, former Senior Product Manager at Monday.com, captivated the audience with his innovative ideas on rethinking user journeys through AI, while Winnie Li from Asana and Nikolina Simonoska from Miro showed how AI can be systematically integrated to enhance team and customer experiences.

Abhinav Chetan, Founder of Digicated and a featured speaker, shared a memorable interaction: “One moment I’ll never forget: a 70+ translator, who had been working tirelessly for two days, approached me and said, ‘You made a complex subject so relatable. Even I learned something useful while translating – your session was excellent.’” Moments like these highlight the unique atmosphere of AI<>BA, where knowledge is not only shared but deeply appreciated.

A Glimpse into AI’s Real-World Impact

The conference provided invaluable insights into the practical applications of AI across different sectors. Attendees had the chance to dive into sessions that went beyond hype, focusing on real-world challenges and effective solutions. Building a Thriving Polish Tech Scene

The energy and potential of the Polish tech scene were on full display. As Ilya Venger, visiting from Israel, noted, “The Polish tech scene is kicking. Coming from Israel, I have a pretty high bar! There’s palpable energy in the air, and I hope to see more products coming from here – translating the service excellence and ingenuity into capital.” The success of AI<>BA in Katowice is a testament to Poland’s growing role as a tech and innovation hub in Europe, attracting talent and expertise from around the world.
